Staalfabriek

The Royal Dutch Steelworks in IJmuiden (now known as Tata Steel) is a place I regularly visit to observe the site. It continues to fascinate and inspire me time and again. Steelworks around the world have likewise become an inexhaustible source of inspiration for my drawings.

This artwork is therefore loosely based on the former Corus steelworks in Wales. In the foreground stands a blast furnace, with an extensive complex of steel plants and ore fields stretching out behind it.
